Run!!!

No… No zombies but.. What if there were some day? Huh? then what? Well let me tell you. Over the last few years I’ve managed to be moderately successful hitting the treadmill but really have hit a plateau over the last bit. I went from 210 down to 147, and back up to about 170 where I’ve been floating for the last few years, and would like to try to take that down to 150 or so, but find that my lifestyle of programming and enjoying my weekends isn’t a 150 kinda life. So, to combat that, I will take advantage of the fact that I really don’t have a “Starting”...

My New Escape.

I work too much. Seriously… I’m not complaining, as I see it more as a means to an end. Work my butt off now, so I don’t have to work my butt off later. But sometimes it becomes too much. Especially when it’s your own companies your working on, because even after you leave the office or shut down the computer, everything is still on your mind. If you are lacking time, jump ahead to around 17:00 where they start to do a really great comparison, on our existing software patents to music. (If music would have been patentable in a similar fashion). The acceptance of patents to sofware developers similar to that of a “tax” is just pathetic. It’s completely out of control, and when you understand the concept of patent hedge funds growing at rapid rates, whom’s only purpose is to acquire more and more patents so they can...

Hacked.

<Sigh> 5 minutes alone in a room with someone who prides himself of hacking websites. Is that too much to ask? On Friday, someone hacked our company website (Not this one). Now, to put this in perspective. Our corporate website (www.elastiq.ca) is as simple as websites come. We really only use it as a presence and don’t put a lot of time into it, because we’d rather put our efforts into our clients, so this small website is a 3 page site. Why someone saw fit to hack it is completely beyond me. My only guess is that Neil pissed someone off I’m sure it was some automated stupid...

My Toolbox

Between my home office computer(s), laptop, office computer and buying new comps & OS’s every other year, I tend to have to reinstall software alot. When I do that, I sometimes have to try to find those little gem apps I just have to have over and over, so I thought keeping a post here with links to them would be a good idea. I’m always on the hunt to increase productivity, but for now, these are the programs I can’t live without.o) MWSnap (Download) Cost: Free Not the prettiest GUI in the world, but a great set of FREE tools all wrapped into one such as screen shots, color...
